Does the ResMed myAir app work in the UAE?
No. The ResMed myAir cellular data upload feature does not function in the UAE for either the AirSense 10 or AirSense 11. However, therapy data β including AHI, leak rate, usage hours, and pressure data β can still be accessed by reading the SD card using ResMed's AirView software, or by reviewing the summary data directly on the machine's screen each morning. The Yuwell YH-680's BreathCare+ app works fully in the UAE via WiFi and is the best option for UAE patients requiring smartphone-based data tracking.
Why is a heated tube important in the UAE?
UAE air conditioning systems run for most of the year and produce very low indoor humidity β often below 30%. When pressurised, humidified air passes through an unheated tube into a cold or cool room, condensation can form inside the tube β a phenomenon known as "rainout." This results in water droplets entering the mask during therapy, which is uncomfortable and disruptive. A heated tube maintains air temperature along its full length, preventing condensation and ensuring consistent, comfortable humidity delivery. The AirSense 11, AirSense 10, and Yuwell YH-680 all include heated tubes in the box. The AirStart 10 is not compatible with any heated tube. The DreamStation 2 heated tube is available from us as an optional add-on.
Do all these machines work with UAE 220V power?
Yes. All five machines operate on universal voltage (100β240V, 50/60Hz) and are fully compatible with the UAE's 220β240V power supply. A standard UAE three-pin plug adaptor may be needed depending on the power cable supplied with the machine.
What water should I use in the humidifier in the UAE?
Always use distilled water β and only distilled water β in the humidifier chamber of any CPAP machine. UAE tap water and most bottled mineral water contain dissolved calcium and magnesium that cause rapid scale build-up on the heating plate, impair humidifier performance, and shorten chamber life. Distilled water for CPAP use is available directly from CPAP Medical Trading and from most pharmacies and supermarkets across the UAE.
