Travel Machine Comparison Guide
Travel CPAP Machine Comparison Guide — Dubai & UAE
Compare all travel CPAP machines available from CPAP Medical Trading. Weight, size, battery options, mask compatibility, humidification, AED prices and honest recommendations for every traveller type.
Travel CPAP machines are purpose-built for patients who need to maintain their sleep apnea therapy on the road — without dragging a full-sized bedside device through airport security. They are significantly smaller and lighter than home CPAP machines, FAA-approved for use on aircraft, and designed to work with waterless humidification so you never need to search for distilled water at your destination. This guide compares all three travel CPAP machines stocked by CPAP Medical Trading in Business Bay, Dubai — with full specs, honest pros and cons, and clear guidance on which device suits your travel style.
✈️ UAE travellers note: All three machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use and compatible with UAE 220V power supply (100–240V universal). All three use waterless HME humidification — no distilled water needed on the road. Emirates, Etihad, flydubai and Air Arabia all permit CPAP machines as additional carry-on items beyond standard baggage allowances — always notify your airline at least 48 hours before travel and carry a copy of your prescription or a physician letter.

Travel CPAP Tips for UAE Patients
Common Questions — Travel CPAP in the UAE
Can I use my travel CPAP on the plane?
Yes — all three machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use. However, airline policies vary. Emirates, Etihad, flydubai, and Air Arabia all permit CPAP devices but recommend notifying them at least 48 hours in advance. Some carriers require Bluetooth to be switched off during flight. Always carry a copy of your prescription and a physician's letter confirming medical necessity in case it is requested at security.
Do I need distilled water for my travel CPAP?
No. All three travel CPAP machines use HME (Heat Moisture Exchanger) waterless humidification — a small cartridge that captures moisture from your exhaled breath and returns it on your next inhale. No water tank, no distilled water, no searching for a pharmacy at your destination. This is one of the key advantages of a dedicated travel machine over travelling with your home CPAP.
Can I use my existing home CPAP mask with a travel machine?
It depends on which machine you choose. The BMC M1 Mini and Breas Z2 both use standard 15mm tubing and are compatible with most standard CPAP masks — no adapter needed. The ResMed AirMini requires AirMini-specific versions of ResMed masks (AirFit F20, N20, N30, P10 AirMini editions). However, our AirMini package already includes the mask and tube kit, so you'll be fully equipped out of the box.
Should I buy a travel CPAP or just travel with my home machine?
For occasional travel — one or two trips a year — travelling with your home machine is often perfectly acceptable. For frequent travellers, a dedicated travel CPAP makes a significant difference: no searching for distilled water, a smaller device that fits in carry-on luggage without sacrificing space, and a waterless humidification system that works anywhere in the world. Many patients use their travel machine as a second device and keep their full-featured home machine at their bedside permanently.
