Nasal Mask Comparison Guide
Nasal CPAP Mask Comparison Guide β Dubai & UAE
Compare all 8 nasal CPAP masks available from CPAP Medical Trading. Cushion types, tube positions, fit, AED prices and honest recommendations for every patient type.
A nasal mask covers only your nose β not your mouth β making it smaller, lighter, and less intrusive than a full face mask. Nasal masks are the most widely prescribed mask type for patients who breathe primarily through their nose during sleep. They allow more natural sleeping positions, generate less COβ rebreathing than full face masks, and are particularly well-suited to higher therapy pressures. This guide compares all 8 nasal CPAP masks stocked by CPAP Medical Trading in Dubai, with clear explanations of cushion types, tube positions, and which design works best for which patient.
π‘ Nasal mask or full face mask? If you breathe through your mouth during sleep, a nasal mask alone will not be effective β air will escape through your mouth and therapy pressure will be lost. If you are uncertain whether you are a nose breather or mouth breather during sleep, ask your physician. Chin straps can sometimes help keep the mouth closed with a nasal mask. If mouth breathing persists, a full face mask is the appropriate solution.
β οΈ Magnetic clips warning: The ResMed AirFit N30i, AirFit N20, AirTouch N30i, Philips DreamWisp, and Philips Wisp (some versions) all use magnetic headgear clips. Patients with pacemakers, cochlear implants, or other active implants must consult their physician before using any mask with magnetic components. The Philips Wisp Fabric FitPack, Philips Wisp Silicone FitPack, and BMC N4 do not use magnetic clips. The AirFit N30 also does not use magnetic clips.

Common Questions β Nasal Masks
What is the difference between a nasal cradle and a traditional nasal mask?
A traditional nasal mask (like the AirFit N20 or Wisp) covers the full nose β the cushion seals over the nose bridge and around both sides. A nasal cradle (like the AirFit N30, N30i, or AirTouch N30i) has a crescent-shaped cushion that sits under the nose rather than over it. Cradle masks cause no nose bridge pressure or marks, offer a wider field of vision, and are particularly comfortable for side sleepers. Traditional masks generally provide a more stable seal at higher therapy pressures.
Can I use a nasal mask if I have a beard or facial hair?
Facial hair makes achieving a reliable seal with nasal masks more challenging since the cushion needs to create an airtight seal against the skin. Nasal cradle masks (N30, N30i, AirTouch N30i) generally work better with facial hair than traditional over-nose designs, as the seal area is smaller. The AirTouch N30i's fabric cushion also adapts more flexibly around facial hair than a rigid silicone cushion. If you have significant facial hair and are struggling to get a seal, consider a full face mask instead.
Which nasal mask is best if I sleep on my stomach?
The ResMed AirFit N30i is specifically designed to be the only nasal mask suitable for stomach sleeping. Its tube-up design keeps the hose at the top of the head, and the under-nose cradle cushion allows lying face-down without the mask digging into the pillow or face. The AirTouch N30i also accommodates stomach sleeping reasonably well due to its fully fabric-wrapped frame and tube-up design.
