Nasal Pillow Mask Comparison Guide
Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask Comparison Guide — Dubai & UAE
Compare all 8 nasal pillow CPAP masks available from CPAP Medical Trading. Pillow types, tube positions, seal designs, AED prices and honest recommendations for every patient type.
Nasal pillow masks are the smallest, lightest, and least intrusive CPAP mask type available. Instead of covering the nose with a cushion, they seal directly at the nostrils — using soft silicone pillows that sit gently inside or around the entrance to the nostrils. This makes them ideal for patients who feel claustrophobic in larger masks, those with facial hair, side and stomach sleepers, patients who wear glasses in bed, or anyone who wants the absolute minimum mask contact. This guide compares all 8 nasal pillow masks stocked at CPAP Medical Trading in Dubai.
💡 Nasal pillow or nasal mask? Nasal pillow masks seal at the nostrils and are the most minimalist option. Nasal masks cover the full nose and provide a more stable seal at higher therapy pressures. If your prescribed pressure is above 15 cmH₂O, a nasal mask may provide a more reliable seal than nasal pillows. If you struggle with claustrophobia, have facial hair, or move a lot during sleep, nasal pillows are usually the better starting point.
⚠️ High pressure note: Nasal pillow masks generally perform best at therapy pressures up to 15–16 cmH₂O. Above this level, the seal around the nostrils can become less stable and air leakage may increase. If your prescribed pressure is high, discuss with your physician whether a nasal mask (which seals over the nose) or a full face mask may provide better results.

Common Questions — Nasal Pillow Masks
Are nasal pillow masks suitable for high therapy pressures?
Nasal pillow masks generally perform well up to around 15–16 cmH₂O. Above this level, the seal around the nostrils can become less stable and you may experience increased air leakage. If your prescribed pressure is above 15, discuss with your physician whether a nasal mask (which covers the full nose and provides a more stable seal) would be more appropriate. The F&P Brevida and Philips DreamWisp (in our nasal mask range) can accommodate higher pressures than most standard nasal pillow designs.
Can I use a nasal pillow mask if I have a beard or moustache?
Yes — nasal pillow masks are generally the most facial-hair-friendly mask type because the seal forms inside or around the nostrils, not against facial skin where beards or moustaches grow. All pillow masks in this comparison work well with beards. Note that the F&P Brevida rests above the upper lip — a prominent moustache may slightly affect its seal. All other masks in this comparison are not affected by facial hair.
What's the difference between gel pillows and silicone pillows?
Standard nasal pillows are made from plain silicone — durable, washable, and effective. Gel-infused pillows (Nuance Gel, DreamWear Gel) have a gel compound integrated into the silicone that makes them noticeably softer to the touch and inside the nostrils. Many patients with sensitive nostrils find gel pillows more comfortable than standard silicone, particularly at the start of therapy. Both types wash and maintain the same way and have similar replacement schedules.
