The 15mm diameter produces less drag on the mask than a 19mm tube — the reduced weight and greater flexibility of the narrower hose means less resistance as patients move during sleep, helping maintain the mask seal through position changes. It is particularly well-suited for nasal pillow mask users, whose lightweight masks are more susceptible to being pulled off-seal by the weight and stiffness of a 19mm hose.
