Replace every 4 weeks โ do not wash or reuse. Not compatible with DreamStation 2 which uses a different ultra-fine filter. DreamStation 1 Disposable Ultra-Fine Filter โ Fine Particle Defence for Your Home CPAP
The DreamStation original (DS1) uses the same two-stage filtration concept as the DreamStation 2, but with a different form factor. The reusable outer pollen filter handles the larger particles; this inner disposable ultra-fine filter adds a second layer of protection against the finer allergens, dust particles, and odours that pass through the foam. Made of synthetic fine fibres, the ultra-fine filter sits alongside the pollen filter in the machine's intake housing โ both must be installed together for complete filtration.
The DreamStation 1 ultra-fine is a non-optional upgrade for allergy sufferers, smokers, or patients with pets in the bedroom. Standard foam alone is effective for larger particles but allows fine allergens and microscopic dust through unchallenged. The ultra-fine's tighter fibre matrix intercepts these โ meaning the air that reaches your humidifier, your tubing, and ultimately your airway has gone through two distinct filtration stages rather than one. The motor also benefits: fine particles that accumulate on impeller surfaces over months of nightly use contribute to early motor failure. The ultra-fine filter catches what the pollen filter misses before it gets that far.
These filters are specific to DreamStation 1 machines โ they are a different size and design from DreamStation 2 ultra-fine filters and are not interchangeable. Always confirm your machine generation before ordering. The 6-pack provides approximately 6 months of supply at the 4-week replacement schedule.
Is the ultra-fine filter required on the DreamStation 1?
The DreamStation 1 requires the reusable pollen filter for operation. The ultra-fine is an additional accessory โ highly recommended but not mandatory. For patients with allergies, asthma, pets, or in dusty environments like Dubai, using both filters is strongly advised.
Can I use DreamStation 2 ultra-fine filters in my DreamStation 1?
No โ the DS1 and DS2 ultra-fine filters have different dimensions and carrier designs. They are not interchangeable. Using a DS2 filter in a DS1 machine will not seat correctly and may leave gaps in filtration. Always order the filter matching your machine generation.
