Philips Wisp Nasal Mask Replacement Headgear โ€” Overview

The Philips Respironics Wisp Nasal Mask Replacement Headgear is the genuine soft fabric headgear for the Wisp nasal mask family โ€” compatible with both the Wisp Fabric FitPack and the Wisp Clear Silicone FitPack. Both Wisp variants share the same compact frame, and therefore the same headgear, so one replacement covers patients using either cushion style.

The Wisp headgear is defined by its slim, minimal footprint. There is no forehead support band โ€” the frame sits directly against the nose with a low-profile design that keeps the mask lightweight and the patient's field of view fully open. The clip-based tab connection attaches to each side of the Wisp frame with a simple press and release, and the straps adjust via hook-and-loop tabs at the sides and back of the head for a precise, personalised fit.

With no magnetic components anywhere in the design, the Wisp headgear is one of the better nasal mask headgear options for patients with pacemakers, cochlear implants, or other active medical implants where magnetic clip systems are contraindicated. As with all CPAP headgear, replacing every 6 months prevents the gradual overtightening cycle that worn, stretched fabric causes โ€” restoring the mask to its correctly tensioned, comfortable fit.

When to Replace Your Wisp Headgear

  • Hook-and-loop tabs are at maximum tightness but the mask still feels loose or shifts during sleep
  • Cushion leaks have increased despite the cushion being recently replaced and in good condition
  • The fabric straps show visible stretching, fraying, or surface breakdown
  • Morning facial or temple marks have worsened โ€” a sign of compensatory overtightening
  • It has been 6 months or longer since the last headgear replacement

๐Ÿงถ Fabric vs Silicone Wisp โ€” same headgear: Whether you use the Wisp Fabric FitPack or the Wisp Clear Silicone FitPack, the headgear is identical. Both masks use the same compact Wisp frame and the same clip attachment points โ€” so this single replacement covers both. If you ever switch between the fabric and silicone cushion variants, your existing headgear carries over.

๐Ÿงผ Headgear care: Hand wash weekly with mild soap and warm water. Lay flat to air dry away from direct sunlight. Never machine wash or tumble dry โ€” mechanical agitation and heat break down the elastic fibres in the fabric straps and accelerate stretch, shortening effective headgear life below the 6-month replacement interval.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this headgear fit both the Wisp Fabric and Wisp Silicone versions?

Yes โ€” both the Wisp Fabric FitPack and the Wisp Clear Silicone FitPack use the same compact Wisp frame with identical clip attachment points. One replacement headgear covers both cushion variants.

Is this headgear compatible with the Wisp Pediatric mask?

No โ€” the Wisp Pediatric nasal mask uses a child-specific headgear with smaller dimensions. This adult Wisp headgear is not suitable for use with the Wisp Pediatric mask.

Is the Wisp headgear safe for patients with pacemakers?

Yes โ€” the Wisp headgear uses a standard clip-based tab system with no magnetic components. It is safe for patients with pacemakers, cochlear implants, and other active medical implants. Always confirm with your physician before use.

Which size should I choose โ€” Standard or Small?

Standard fits the majority of adult patients. Small is designed for patients with a smaller head circumference who find the Standard headgear too loose even at maximum tightness. If you are unsure, contact our team via WhatsApp on +971 56 593 5931 for sizing guidance.
